When people say "build a website" they usually picture pages with text and photos. A site that brings work is made of more. Here are eight parts people remember only after launch. All of them are in my recent projects.
- An admin. You change texts, prices, news and photos yourself, without calling a developer. If every edit needs a programmer, the site goes stale fast.
- Requests to Telegram. A three-field form, and the request lands in your messenger at once instead of sitting in an inbox for a week.
- Payment tied to a goal. Card or crypto, and the payment goes to the right product or fundraiser. For a charity project that means the money goes to one specific child, not into a common pot.
- Booking and reservations. A calendar of free time instead of "when is convenient for you" threads. Taken slots hide themselves.
- A mailbox on your own domain. info@yourdomain instead of a personal inbox: it looks more reliable and does not vanish with someone's account.
- File storage. Photos and documents live in one place and plug into any page by link, instead of being sent around in archives.
- News and a newsletter. You publish one news item and it goes to subscribers and social networks. No rewriting the same text three times.
- Reports and export. How many requests, how many payments, where visitors came from. An Excel or PDF table instead of "there seemed to be a lot".
How to tell what you need. If you sell one service and want people to write to you, a landing page is enough: offer, price, form. If you need booking, payment or an account area, that is already a system, and it is better planned at once than glued on in pieces.
What to check before you order:
- Who changes the texts after launch: you or the developer.
- Where requests go and how fast you see them.
- Who owns your client data and whether you can export it.
A landing page starts from 300 EUR with me, and a system with payment and an admin is priced by what it includes. More on price: how much a website costs and what drives the price.
Tell me about your task in two lines and I will say which of the eight parts you need: kovalev.trade/websites
